Here is the basic history of Paul's racing since he started, in his own words I will endeavour to update this page after an event when the information and pictures become available.

2004
Easter ThunderballPaul's Quickest run yet 10.86et @ 122.24 mph with N2o,

Paul's Quickest run yet 11.292 et @ 114.85 mph without N2o

On the First pass I ran an 11.62 in the ¼, on the second pass I ran a 1.53 60ft 7.246 1/8 @ 93.53 mph running 11.492 1/4 @ 114.85 mph. So I was absolutely elated and decided put in the blue bottle with a 40 shot, first two passes the nitrous safety switch kept cutting in. I thought it must be fuel starvation/surge so I filled up the stock tank half way. Now the gas cut in from the start 1.45 60ft 7.029 @ 96mph 1/8 but then cut off running an 11.204 @ 114.24 slower terminal than the 11.49 pass. So I filled up the tank some more a ran another pass a 1.416 60ft but the N2o cut out and only ran a 11.44 I'll do some investigation into the Nitrous system for the next time.
I raced in the final and unfortunately red lit, oh well there's always next time, when the Nitrous is working properly and I get used to working with it I am hoping to run in the 11 teens @120mph.

2003
Due to a dropped valve on the way to the first meeting the engine was rebuilt. Now running 2332cc using 94mm barrels 10.5cr with an fk89 and without a fan belt at the track. The car has now run an 11.75 with a best terminal of 115mph and is currently 8th on the cal-look.com top twenty. I also won Pro at Bug Jam and came runner up in at the National finals I only raced at 4 events finishing the season in 3rd place.
The car also made
186bhp @7300 at the wheels with the fan belt and muffler on.

2002
Managed 4 out of the six rounds and took the win in Pro at Bug Jam at finishing in 4th overall. With a best of 12.49 @ 105.17 mph and took 20th position on Cal-look.com top twenty. Now with slicks, but running with the muffler and fan belt on.

2000
I started to rebuild the car using a scat C89 second hand cam from JB the engine was freshened. The gearbox was also upgraded to include a quaife LSD and 1.65 and 1.19 ratio 3rd and 4th gears. 48 IDA's with 42mm chokes now sat in the engine bay! I also gave the Car a   pan off restoration and some sway away adjustable spring plates and 28 mm torsion bars.

1996
Unfortunately didn't go to plan with two flat cams and costly rebuilds I stopped racing to buy a flat etc. However I still won the first round of Santa Pods sportsman ET championship.

1995
I started to build a new engine and box with intention of running 12's in street trim except for stinger as VWDRC rules permitted. John Brewster ported the heads, built and assembled the gearbox. This engine was to be used as my daily driver as I had no other vehicle with this I mind this spec was agreed. 2162cc 90.5 x 84 scat pro comp nitrided crank, H beam 5.7 rods, FK89, 1.4 scat rockers, 1 7/8 exhaust, 44x38 Competition eliminators set at 9 to 1 cr, 2500lb Kennedy clutch with stock disk, 12.5 lb flywheel, straight cut cam gear, scat lifters, stock clearanced case and 48 Dells. The gearbox was also upgraded with FTC 3.78, 2.35 1st and second gears coupled together with a 1.48 & 1.04 3rd and 4th ratios

1995
set a new street record at the second round 13.84 and later in the year improved to 13.58 with a best terminal of 102.44 and 1.82 60ft on street tyres. The car covered over 18,000 miles that year as my daily driver and took Low ET at every meeting. During that season I took 13 trophies from 10 rounds including Bug Jam runner up, Beetle bash winner, 32 car shoot out runner up, street warrior winner and won the championship. A season I feel will never be surpassed by me anyway.

1994
My 1st and only meeting for that year was Bug Jam. Car ran 14.42

1993/4
Built a 2007cc Engine with help! from John Brewster, spec was a Scat 78mm crank, stock rods, Engle FK89 1.4's & 1.1's, 45 dells, 39 x 35 mm heads, 9 to 1 cr, 1 3/4 exhaust, straight cut cam and scat  lifters. All run on a stock box.
